Henry Lansky Named Goalie Of The Week
Brno goaltender delivers under pressure in 4–2 victory over Łódź Legion
The European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) names Henry Lansky of the NU Brno Lions its Goalie of the Week, recognizing a performance that helped Brno secure a hard-fought 4–2 road victory over Łódź Legion on October 24.
Lansky was called upon repeatedly throughout the contest, facing 31 shots and turning aside 29 for a .935 save percentage. His performance helped the Lions overcome a significant disadvantage in shots, as Łódź outshot Brno 45–32 over three periods.
In a game where Brno needed its goaltender to deliver under pressure, Lansky provided the saves that helped preserve the Lions' advantage. Łódź generated plenty of offensive opportunities, but Brno left with the two-goal victory.
The Lions found the back of the net four times, including three even-strength goals and a power-play marker, providing the offensive support needed to complement Lansky's work between the pipes.
For Brno, the victory demonstrated the importance of a reliable goaltending performance on the road. Facing 45 shots in a competitive league matchup is no small challenge, and Lansky's ability to stop 29 of the 31 shots he faced was a key part of the result.
A performance worth recognizing
Goaltenders are often judged by wins and losses, but performances like Lansky's illustrate how important they can be to a team's success. With Łódź generating more shots, Brno needed its netminder to deliver when called upon.
Lansky did his part, helping the NU Brno Lions earn a 4–2 win and making himself a deserving choice for this week's EUCHL Goalie of the Week recognition.
Congratulations to Henry Lansky and the NU Brno Lions on the victory.
