European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) Opens Player Recruitment and Commitments

Bratislava, Slovakia — The European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) is proud to announce that league-wide recruitment and player commitments for the 2026–2027 season are now officially underway. All six member programs have begun identifying, evaluating, and signing prospective student-athletes for the league’s inaugural competitive season beginning in October 2026.

Formed by North American hockey professionals, the EUCHL provides American and Canadian players with a true collegiate hockey pathway in Europe—complete with academic opportunities, elite training environments, and direct visibility to European professional clubs. With teams located in dynamic European city centers, the league represents a groundbreaking combination of NCAA-style collegiate sport and the world-renowned European hockey development ecosystem.

“Our league was built to expand opportunity,” said an EUCHL spokesperson. “With recent shifts in the North American collegiate landscape, many highly capable players are finding fewer options. The EUCHL exists to give these athletes a structured, competitive, academically grounded route to continue their education and extend their hockey careers.”

Each of the six EUCHL member teams is now actively recruiting players born between 2004 and 2007, including athletes completing their final season of junior eligibility in North America. Programs will begin announcing signings in the coming weeks as rosters take shape for the historic inaugural season.

Prospective players and families seeking more information about the EUCHL, academic pathways, scholarships, or team-specific recruiting processes are encouraged to contact the teams or league directly or visit the official league website.
