European Union College Hockey League Sets December 19–January 9 Break for Players, Coaches and Staff

September 19, 2026 — The European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) today announced the official holiday break for the 2026–2027 season.

The EUCHL will enter a scheduled league-wide downtime beginning December 19, 2026, through January 9, 2027, giving players, coaches, team personnel and league staff an opportunity to step away from hockey, recharge and spend valuable time with family and friends during the holiday season.

The holiday break is designed to provide everyone throughout the EUCHL with time to rest and enjoy the holiday season before returning to competition in the new year.

A New Year, New Opportunities

While the league will be taking a break from competition, work behind the scenes will continue as the EUCHL prepares for an exciting second half of the 2026–2027 season.

The league is currently working on a revised schedule that will include additional teams and games, creating new opportunities for competition across Europe.

Stay tuned beginning next week as the EUCHL starts releasing details of the revised schedule and additional teams and games.

The 2026–2027 season continues to represent an important period of growth for the European Union College Hockey League as the league expands its European footprint and creates additional opportunities for college hockey programs and student-athletes.

For now, the message is simple:

December 19 through January 9 — take a break, go home, spend time with family, rest and recharge.
