Brasco Cirillo Named Shift Nutrition Goalie of the Week

The European Union College Hockey League (EUCHL) is pleased to announce that Brasco Cirillo of the VSM Bratislava Capitals has been named the Shift Nutrition Goalie of the Week, following a shutout performance in the Capitals’ emphatic 7–0 road victory over Łódź Legion HC on Sunday.

Cirillo’s shutout helped complete a perfect opening weekend for Bratislava, which began its inaugural EUCHL regular season with a 7–2 victory over Łódź on Saturday before returning the following day to deliver a dominant defensive performance and blank the Legion.

A Shutout to Remember

While the Capitals’ offense supplied seven goals, Cirillo provided the foundation for the victory by keeping Łódź off the scoreboard. A shutout in the opening weekend of a new league season is a statement performance, reflecting the importance of reliable goaltending in a championship-caliber team effort.

The back-to-back victories gave Bratislava an ideal start to its first season representing VSM Bratislava and City University of Seattle in the EUCHL.

Recognizing Excellence Between the Pipes

The Shift Nutrition Goalie of the Week award recognizes goaltenders whose performances make a decisive impact for their teams. Cirillo’s shutout stands out as one of the defining individual performances of the league’s opening weekend.

For the Capitals, the result demonstrated the value of combining offensive depth with disciplined defensive play and dependable goaltending. For Cirillo, it marks an important early achievement as he begins his EUCHL career.
